50年代のスカジャンのアーカイブを参考に、別珍とキルティングのリバーシブルジャケットを作りました。ヴィンテージのスカジャンには当時の駐留兵士のストーリーや浪漫を感じますが、日常的に、そして現代的に着る物として、刺繍を施す前の段階、所謂スカジャンのブランクボディ的なイメージで製作いたしました。裏面は参考にしたヴィンテージの個体に近い、ピンクがかったオレンジ色のキルティングにし、表地は今の気分でブラウン色の別珍にしています。着用した時のバランスを考え、アームはやや太く、キルティングの中綿をオリジナルよりも多めにしています。防寒アウターとして、冬も暖かく着ていただけます。商品名の"SOUV"というのは造語ですが、製作途中のようなsouvenir jacketなので、単語の一部を排除し、"SOUV JACKET"と名付けました。リバーシブルとなっておりますので、気分で表裏をお楽しみください。日本製です。

Inspired by 1950s archive souvenir jacket, we created a reversible piece featuring velveteen on one side and quilted fabric on the other. Vintage souvenir jacket carry the stories and romance of the soldiers who once wore them. Yet for everyday, contemporary wear, we designed this jacket with the idea of a “blank body” before any embroidery is applied, capturing the essence of a souvenir jacket in its earliest state. The reversed side uses a slightly pink-tinted orange quilting reminiscent of the original vintage piece we referenced, while the outer fabric is a rich brown velveteen that reflects today’s mood. To ensure a modern silhouette and proper balance when worn, the sleeves are made slightly wider, and the quilting contains more padding than the originals for added warmth. It functions as a reliable winter outerwear piece. The name “SOUV” is a coined word derived from “souvenir” jacket, leaving part of the word behind to express something still in the making. Hence, we named it the “SOUV JACKET.” Because it is reversible, you can enjoy both sides depending on your style and mood. Made in Japan.
