GEL-KAYANOというモデルを聞くとAngeloやJJJJoundのあのモデルを連想する方も多いのでしょうか。もうすぐ30周年を迎える"GEL-KAYANO"は1993年に誕生し、榧野氏が手掛けたその初代がこの"TRAINER"でした。過去のインタビューでも当初はデザイン重視だったと語っておられるほど、クワガタをモチーフとした今見ても秀逸なデザインです。僕も本当に大好きなモデルです。もう少し後発的なKAYANOも大好きですが、アシックスタイガー名義の時代のモデル達も大好きで、もちろんこのTRAINERも。より多くのカラーリングや別注が発売されることを楽しみに今回セレクトしました。このカラーはブルーとグレーが混ざったような淡いカラーリング。スウェードのアッパーも相まって凄く上品な仕上がりです。このモデルとこのカラーリング、一つのスニーカーでも色んな表情があるなと改めて感じさせられる一足です。状態もよく意外と何にでも合わせられるカラーではないでしょうか。

The GEL-KAYANO model may remind many people of the Angelo and JJJound models. GEL-KAYANO, which will soon celebrate its 30th anniversary, was born in 1993, and the first model created by Mr. Kayano was the "TRAINER". The design of the first GEL-KAYANO TRAINER was based on a stag beetle motif, which he says in a past interview was the main focus of the design. I really like this model. I also love the later KAYANO, but I also love the models from the ASICS Tiger name, and of course the TRAINER. I selected this model with the hope that more colorings and special orders will be released. This colorway is a muted mix of blue and gray. The suede upper is a very elegant finish. This model and this coloring, even a single pair of sneakers can have many different looks. They are in good condition and surprisingly can be worn with anything.
