1988年に登場した900番台の第三弾である「996」。本作はオリジナルのシルエットを精緻に再現したLIFESTYLEモデルの「CM996」です。ソールにもダメージが見られたため、PLAYGROUNDのオリジナルライン"pg"に採用されることが多い「Rollin Gait System」を移植しました。カスタムを施したことによりクラシックなアッパーと、最新のランニングシューズのハイブリッドのような、とても面白い一足に仕上がりました。(このソールは曲線的で構造で前への推進力が出るようなソールです。また安定感もあり筋疲労の抑制にもつながるといわれております)

These sneakers were brought in at a purchase event.
The "996" is the third version of the 900 series, which was introduced in 1988. This is the "CM996", a LIFESTYLE model which is an exact reproduction of the original silhouette. Since the sole was also damaged, the "Rollin Gait System," which is often used in PLAYGROUND's original "pg" line, was transplanted. The customization resulted in a very interesting pair that is a hybrid of a classic upper and a modern running shoe. (This sole is curved and structured to propel you forward. It is also said to provide stability and reduce muscle fatigue.)
