SPACE HIPPIEとはNIKEにとっての「宇宙ゴミ」とも言える廃棄されるスクラップを蘇らせ、循環性を重視した大胆なデザインに仕上げた実験的なフットウェアコレクションのこと。アッパーを構成するニットの素材はペットボトルやTシャツから作られた100%のリサイクル素材。クッショニング部は同社のNIKE VAPORFLY 4%のスクラップを元に再加工。二酸化炭素の排出量を約半分に。クレーターフォームで作られたソールはグラインドラバー(不要となった靴や廃棄となった素材から作られたラバー)を約15%混ぜることで、新たな素材を使うことを防ぎつつ、炭素排出量を削減。エコに対する取り組みがこれでもかと詰め込まれたプロダクトたちはデザインも素晴らしいです。03はハイカットのスリッポンタイプ。近未来的なデザインが特徴的です。軽量かつ、通気性も良いので時期的には今おすすめです。アッパー中腹のグレーのベルトを引っ張ることで紐が締まるシステムを搭載。緩めるときはシューズ後方のグレーベルトを引っ張ることでロックが外れ、緩められるようになります。メカニカルなカラーリング。ナイロン系のアイテムとぜひ。2019年製。

SPACE HIPPIE is an experimental footwear collection that revives scraps that could be considered “space junk” for NIKE and transforms them into bold designs that emphasize sustainability. The knit material used for the upper is made from 100% recycled materials, such as plastic bottles and T-shirts. The cushioning is reprocessed from scraps of the company's NIKE VAPORFLY 4%. This reduces carbon dioxide emissions by about half. The sole, made from crater foam, incorporates approximately 15% ground rubber (rubber made from discarded shoes and waste materials), thereby avoiding the use of new materials while reducing carbon emissions. These products, packed with eco-friendly initiatives, also boast outstanding design. The 03 is a high-top slip-on style. Its futuristic design is a standout feature. It is lightweight and breathable, making it ideal for the current season. The system features a gray belt on the mid-section of the upper that tightens the laces when pulled. To loosen, pull the gray belt at the back of the shoe to release the lock. The mechanical color scheme pairs well with nylon-based items. Made in 2019.
